Hi friends! I’ve waited a LONG time to be able to invest in our “forever Christmas decor” now that we are finished with the renovation/remodel of our home. I know what you are thinking: never say never…right? RIGHT. However, we have no intention of moving in the foreseeable future so I went ahead a picked up a few things that I could envision decking our halls with each year, and I’m excited to finally share them with you today!
How did you decide on what to purchase?
I tried to focus on greenery and decor that felt timeless. I gathered the heavy hitters like our tree (currently 40% off!) and not one, but two sets of garlands. I kept things pretty neutral so it would fit the vibe of our home. I also gathered items that could take on a different feel each year should my style change.
Some of you saw the three trees I brought home via Instagram and might be wondering which one we ended up keeping. If you saw photo, it was number one! The 7.5 ft slim prelit pine tree. At the end of the day we just fell in love with the style of it, and ultimately decided it fit better in our home. We loved the giant tree (#3) but it just felt massive in our cozy living room.
Where do you find inspiration?
It’s no secret I love Instagram! All of the influencers I follow usually roll out Christmas early to meet their holiday collaboration deadlines, so that always gets my wheels spinning. In addition to IG, I also pull a ton of inspo from Pinterest. I search things like “minimalist Christmas,” or “neutral Christmas decor” to find holiday styling that I am naturally drawn too. It’s important to know your style and color scheme (mine is colorful Christmas meets modern farmhouse) before getting started. There is so much content out there, you can get distracted from YOUR style and vibe pretty easily if you don’t stay focused.
Can we see the final look?
YES! We usually like to make a whole night of decorating in our home with Christmas music and hot chocolate…so once we do that I’ll be sure to share how everything turned out. It’s still a work in progress since we have yet to decorate this space. Don’t be afraid to play with things a little until you get the result you are looking for. Nothing is written in stone and there are no rules - so do what makes YOU happy!
